Making a Victorian-Inspired Cape for Ultimate ~Witchy Vibes~

“Tis that time of the year again: time for fiery foliage, ghost stories, hot cups of tea—and capes! What promised to be a quick 5-piece project quickly turned into a several-month endeavor—no thanks to a certain 24-hour sewing experiment I thought would fast-track this project to completion, but actually resulted in two extra weeks of tinkering, unpicking, re-strategizing, and finally completing. But credit where credit is due: that embroidery ate up a good chunk of time on its own! And was very much worth the effort.

This pattern was initially developed during a late evening in early 2021, as I desperately needed a bit of creative fun whilst writing my book. For a period of about three months, every day of the week was scheduled morning to evening with the essential writing and demonstration tasks needed to meet my publishing deadline and keep up with the channel, so having a fun personal project to escape to in the evenings was a lifesaver. I’m so glad to have finally now had the chance to bring it to life!

Some of you who have been around here for a while might remember the Edwardian mantle reproduction project I did as my second-ever project for this channel. Well—that one is now available as well, in case you fancy a short cape option for the spooky season.
